Promoting the website and forums + new Topic Cats.

I am looking to make this place into much larger community... Problem is figuring out how to get people to get here, and having something set-up that they'd be interested in staying for. That being said, I'm not looking to sell out to the masses, it has to be a place that interests me too (underwater basketweaving forum is not going to make the cut).

I need to add a few more topics to the forum. So far it looks like I'll be adding a topic that my good friend who is a talented musician will moderate, it's a place where people can ask him questions and talk to him about his music, interests, ideas and that sort of thing, it would be nice if he could build a nice little following of fans who appreciate his music and skills and are interested in supporting him.

I also plan to add an N.B.A. topic, as that is something I enjoy and know a lot about.

I was thinking it might be cool to have a forum that links to cool videos... I'm not sure how I want to title it though, and if I want to maybe break it down into several categories instead (YouTube, Myspace videos, FX home, Ifilm etc.).

It would be interesting to have a film makers topic, I also want to have an audio makers topic, maybe a 3D and claymation topic as well.

I am planning to slowly start promoting the site by listing it on other boards where it's appropriate. I might even buy a small amount of advertising at the Super Bowl (just kidding), well okay... some small advertising on some of these banner ads you see on websites.

I have a 4 1/2 minute 3d animation that I did the music for. I need to create a better title screen for it, then I plan to send it to Mania TV! (live version), post it at Myspace videos, FX home, YouTube, and maybe even Ifilms... I expect this to get a lot of attention from this animation and will put a link to my homepage, and/or the forum. It's gonna take me a while to get around to creating a decent title screen, and I'd like to better prepare the forums until then.

Any suggestions or comments?

Well I have spent the last 2 hours in THE PHOTOSHOP INTERNET CAFE where really talented people help others learn the ins and outs of photoshop...(which is BTW one of the most sophisticated pieces of software I have ever run into). So I would recommend you emphasize FREE and HELPFUL things......Where is your animation thing I would love to HELP you with it...for FREE....SEE IT'S WORKING ALREADY---LOL.

Hehe... Nothing in life is free... But then again, a sucker is born every minute so your advice stands.

The animation thing is on my hard drive... Mainly I'm doing the title so that it looks a little better, and so that I can use a program I have which allows me to post the video online at FX home (you must use their program in some manner in order to be allowed to post your video), since the girl who made this did everything in Maya 3d software, I have to work this program into the mix somehow.

Thanks for the helfpful offer, this project requires I use a specific program though, I WILL come looking for you when I need help on a future project and hope the offer will still stand. Specifically, I may end up needing your help when I get started on my CJ Shawna's Panties video.

Glad we have one Photoshop pro around here, that program is a beast.

I paid $20 to a site exchange business. For $20 I'm suppost to receive 2500 unique users. I don't expect much, but it's worth a shot.

I also submitted my site to several more search engines. www.chalkmaze.com is already #1 on most of the major one's.

Paris, maybe I need to start posting my site everywhere, paying for banners and such, using your idea... How do you think "FREE BOOBIES" will work? Bah, that's only gonna attract guys, and then they are gonna be disappointed and boycott the site . Guess I'll have to think of something else. ER.. well... free music? um... perhaps I will make a free site promotion topic for those wanting free promotion?

you get to meet people virtual face to face and many of them are interested in you... you tell them they can see what you're about at the site... so we'll see... I'm thinking of building a virutal chalkmaze building or something... making it cool... Paris you should join in...

I'm so tired right now.. hehe.. typing very fast... anyway... it's wilder than you think... I was hanging out at a special NIN party with maybe 40 people, a real dj who played some great mixes, and they raised $250 us REAL dollars for a charity from donations during the dance...

wild... I won't even mention the peculiar adult activities that run rampant... people let loose there, that's for sure.
